DESCRIPTION
Purpose of the Forum
- Learn about Aboriginal practice education activities in BC
- Engage stakeholders who have a role in supporting Aboriginal practice education capacity building
Objectives
- Increase awareness and knowledge about Aboriginal practice education
- Provide an opportunity to build or strengthen partnerships
- Learn about strategies and policies influencing the Aboriginal Health Human Resources landscape and Aboriginal Health
- Develop a common vision
Who should attend?
Individuals who have a role in strengthening Aboriginal Practice Education in BC's First Nations communities & Health Authorities.
- Government - Health Canada, Ministries of Health and Advanced Education, etc
- First Nations (FN) and Aboriginal Organizations - FN Health Council, FN Health Directors Association, FN Education Steering Committee, and the Indigenous Adult Higher Learning Association, etc
- Public Post Secondary Institutions
- Deans and Directors
- Faculty involved in Aboriginal practice education
- Placement coordinators and Aboriginal Coordinators
- Health Authorities - (practice education, Aboriginal health, and preceptors, supervisors or mentors)
