DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the Forum

  • Learn about Aboriginal practice education activities in BC
  • Engage stakeholders who have a role in supporting Aboriginal practice education capacity building

Objectives

  • Increase awareness and knowledge about Aboriginal practice education
  • Provide an opportunity to build or strengthen partnerships
  • Learn about strategies and policies influencing the Aboriginal Health Human Resources landscape and Aboriginal Health
  • Develop a common vision

Who should attend?

Individuals who have a role in strengthening Aboriginal Practice Education in BC's First Nations communities & Health Authorities.

  • Government - Health Canada, Ministries of Health and Advanced Education, etc
  • First Nations (FN) and Aboriginal Organizations - FN Health Council, FN Health Directors Association, FN Education Steering Committee, and the Indigenous Adult Higher Learning Association, etc
  • Public Post Secondary Institutions
    • Deans and Directors
    • Faculty involved in Aboriginal practice education
    • Placement coordinators and Aboriginal Coordinators
  • Health Authorities - (practice education, Aboriginal health, and preceptors, supervisors or mentors)
